This decision provides important insight into your property law. Here is what it changes for you.
The situation
A fisherman running a fishmonger's shop, who devotes the majority of his time to fishing from which he derives the bulk of his income, must be affiliated to the seafarers' scheme to which his main activity, which is a self-employed activity, belongs, regardless of the fact that the said scheme also covers employed workers, and is therefore not liable for the old-age insurance contribution of the scheme for industrial and commercial occupations.
What the law says
This decision confirms the fundamental principles of property law.
